Banner Advertising – The Dos & Don’ts

When creating Your banner ads there are many things to consider but there are a few simple dos and don’ts when it comes to them. Firstly using overly bright colors is going to serve to detract potential customers from your offer. When something is flashing continuously (in the case of a .gif or flash ad) then people are more prone to scroll to a part of the screen where the ad is out of sight than to click on it. When You’d like to make a word stand out use red with a black or white border and put it on a white or light blue background. This is much better than using massive red letters on a starch white background.

Next don’t try to cram too many pictures into one banner. If You want to get the point across that Your offer does in fact teach people how to make money then it only takes one Ferrari in the picture. The mansions, bags of money and the model in the bikini aren’t really necessary. It may look impressive to some but will generally just look cluttered.

Use concise ad-copy. Trying to cram too much information or descriptive words about the offer in to the ad isn’t necessary the landing page has all the information they’d need. Lastly consider what the symbols You’ve used mean to the average person and how they apply to Your product. Using a pink circle in an advertisement for hunting gear isn’t really going to help much unless confusing the customer is the desired result. Thank You For Your Time.
