Ford Motor Company to Participate in Morgan Stanley’s Sixth Annual Laguna Conference; Company to Share Details on Mobility Business; How a 115 Year Old Auto Company is Thinking Like A Startup

DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 5, 2018 – On Wednesday, Sept. 12, Sundeep (Sunny) Madra, Ford Smart Mobility LLC’s vice president of Ford X, will participate in a fireside chat moderated by Adam Jonas at Morgan Stanley’s Sixth Annual Laguna Conference in California.
As a long time entrepreneur and investor, Madra will speak about how he is bringing a culture of innovation and speed to Ford Smart Mobility.
Madra’s experience as co-founder of Xtreme Labs taught him what it takes for successful corporate incubation, including learning to disrupt yourself from the inside, leverage know-how and move quickly. These are the skills Madra brings to Ford X, which operates as a business incubator and accelerator of leading edge mobility solutions.
Madra, co-founder and prior CEO of Autonomic (acquired by Ford Smart Mobility in 2018), will discuss the development of the Transportation Mobility Cloud (TMC), an open, cloud-based platform that he believes will change the ecosystem for mobility solutions in the auto industry.
Madra will describe the successful applications and use services, enabled by the TMC, that Ford has already built on top of its connected vehicles, such as Ford Commercial Services and Non-Emergency Medical Transport. He will also discuss how solutions like these are open to other OEMs to create using the TMC.
Ford’s fireside chat will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PDT at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel (One Ritz-Carlton Drive, Dana Point, Calif.) and can be accessed on Sept. 12 at shareholder.ford.com or by clicking on this link.
