A Glimpse of the 2013 Ford Fiesta ST Two-Door

The release of the 2013 Ford Fiesta ST that had been widely anticipated by many has been confirmed. The tease began at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor show. Later on in 2011, a four door version of the vehicle was showcased at the LA Motor Show. This aroused interest from many of the Ford fans as it was touted to be a vehicle that could be a fast hatch back, one that would rival the Ford Focus. It could have due to the interest aroused from consumers that Ford has confirmed to be going into production with the Ford Fiesta. This announcement was made at the Geneva Motor Show 2012, though the vehicle is slated to go into show rooms in late 2013.

The main discussion point in this vehicle as has been seen in the Fiesta ST concept is the Eco boost 1.6 liter turbocharged engine. With these, the vehicle is able to produce an amazing 178 HP and 177 LB / FT of torque. This power is transmitted through the front wheels via a six speed manual gearbox. With this, the vehicle is touted to do a 0-60 MPH in less than seven seconds with a top speed of 136 mph. With the high torque produced, this is tamed by the three mode stability system in the vehicle that allows you to control the vehicle better, depending on the driving areas. On the exterior, the fiesta ST comes with at new body work and kit, coming in a new design grill and a roof spoiler. Further, there are sides skirts, rear and front fascias and a twin exhaust system.

The interior of the Fiesta St Creates a racing experience, as the vehicle comes in custom-made Recaro Seats that are designed to offer maximum comfort for the driver or passenger. The color of the seats comes in carefully selected colors that compliment the vehicle interior. The vehicle interior also comes with voice recognition, and this symbols the Focus Interior.

According to the manufacturer, Ford, the performance of the vehicle is expected to perform well above other vehicles in the same class such as the Ford Focus. Just as Ford director of Global performance, Jost Capito, was quoted as saying at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, "drivers will be blown away by the new Fiesta ST." According to an engineer involved in the build of this vehicle, the main target of building a vehicle was to reward drivers who are excellent and ea flatterer to the novices. The build of the vehicle, including all preliminary tests were performed in Germany.

It is therefore not clear on whether the new Ford Fiesta ST will be retailed in the US, as production is expected to happen in Europe. If the vehicle is retailed in the US, a four door version of the vehicle will be retailed over a two door version, although the response of the two door version is said to be high and Ford might just decide to offer the two door version. It therefore goes down to waiting on the way forward that Ford will opt on the project, as the vehicle is not expected until late in 2013.
