The first generation on Mustang 1964-73 was designed under chief designer Donald N Frey in just eighteen months.available in convertible, hard top, and fast back styling. The 1967-68 model years represented the first major restyle and the introduction of the big block V8. Externally the car received a concave tail side scoops, chrome side ornamentation (for 1968), square rear view mirror and minor detailing and the Thunderbird 390 Ci engine equipped with a four barrelled carburettor . A Highland Green 1968 Mustang GT Fastback with a 390 Ci block earned immortality for it’s role as Lt. Frank Bullitt’s (Steve McQueen) car in the film Bullitt.
