Strega Mustang during the Unlimited class heat on Friday at the 2010 Reno Air Races.
Piloted by Steve Hinton, the Strega was awarded the top spot in the Unlimited class at this year’s race.
Unfortunately, the Unlimited Gold race was canceled on Sunday due to high winds. Because of the cancellation, final results were awarded based on the team’s standing up to that point. It’s anybody’s guess who would have gotten top spot if the final gold race had been run…
Nikon D300 w/ Sigma 70-200 and Sigma 1.4TC. This was BY FAR the most challenging shooting I’ve ever done. Also perhaps the most rewarding.
BTW – I’m not sure how fast Strega was moving when I took this, but the team’s best average speed for the week was 473.437 mph!
