You don't think luxury options when you think utility van. But, the Dodge Sprinter serves a lot of purposes and if you've decided to purchase one for you family travel, you have a lot of great options to choose from. There are four different packages in the passenger van category. Here are the standards you will find on your Dodge Sprinter and then just a few of the many options you could possible choose to customize your ride:

The standard seating for the passenger vans is twelve, which is the maximum. If you don't need that much, you can opt for a nine passenger van at a reduced price. Gray cloth seats are standard, but if you're worried about spilled drinks and smeared ketchup, black vinyl is available as an option. Your basic Dodge Sprinter comes with a single CD player and AM / FM radio. But, for long trips, you may want to consider upgrading to the six CD changer. All vans come with monotone color, six colors are standard and fifteen colors come as an option. The van comes with 16 "x 6.5 steel wheels but, aluminum wheels are an option for a little extra money.

For the engine, the 3.0-L V6 turbo diesel is standard. The diesel gets better gas mileage, but it lacks in horsepower. So, if you want more get up and go, you can opt for the 3.5-L V6 gas engine. The passenger van comes as a 5 speed automatic. Safety standards are high for the Dodge Sprinter. It comes with anti-lock brakes, braking distribution regulators and traction control.

Now, for the fun stuff. There are a ton of options to choose from, so this is just a sampling of what you can get. Bi xenon headlamps can be added to your package. These provide a brighter clearer night vision. Another safety option is the ParkSense. This feature has sensors in the front and back to detect objects in the way.

Here's a good one if you live in colder climates- heated seats and heated windshield. The driver and front passenger can enjoy toasty warm seats in no time. Cleaning off the snow and ice from the windshield is easier when you heat the windshield. For convenience, you can also add the rain sensor option to your windshield. This activates the wipers for you when a drop of rain hits the glass. Want to bring a little light into the back of the van or let the kids count the stars as you journey to your vacation destination? You can if you choose the rear power sunroof option. With the popularity of GPS devices (not a bad idea on a long road trip), you can opt for the installation of the GPS antenna.

Again, these are just a small sampling of the options available for the Dodge Sprinter passenger van. Whether you decide to load it up with options or go with just a basic with the standards, investing in a Dodge Sprinter van is a great choice for the family.
