Dodge Magnum Recalls

The Dodge Magnum has the same platform as Chrysler's 300 sedan. It was introduced in 2005 and went on replace the Intrepid. It is wagon which is available with either all wheel drive or rear wheel drive. When the Magnum came out, consumers grabbed the chance to own a wagon that had flair and power. However, from 2005 onwards, there have been many Dodge Magnum recalls because of manufacturing glitches.

Here is a list of Dodge Magnum recalls highlighting the problems due to which the cars were called back by DaimlerChrysler.

The 2005 model was recalled because there was a chance for the battery cable fasteners mounted on the bulkhead getting loose. If this happened, it could cause a fire in the instrument panel. The dealers had the responsibility of ensuring that fastener was tighten to the required specification.

Certain vehicles in the 2005 model had a problem with the seatbelt anchors as proper floorpan reinforcement was not done. The dealers had to check the rear floorpan reinforcement and put in the necessary rivets.

In other vehicles in the 2005 Magnum, the bolts for the front seatbelt had not been tightened properly. The dealers had to check the front seatbelts and tighten the bolts according to the specification they had.

The automatic transmission in the 2005 and 2006 Magnum had a problem with cup plug not being installed properly. This was stopping the transmission from shifting to park.

The 2007 Magnum with 2.7L V6 engine had a problem with rear brake tubes that could cause brake fluid to leak and therefore, causing a problem with the brake system. The dealers had to replace the damage tubes.

In the 2007 Magnum with automatic transmission, there was a problem with the powertrain control software that caused the shift to move from drive to neutral and then back to drive. The dealers had to reprogram the powertrain control software.

In the 2007 Magnum, there was a problem with antilock braking software and caused the rear brakes to lock. This could happen without any warning. The dealers had to reprogram the antilock braking system.

In the 2008 Magnum, there was manufacture defect in the rear axle hub nuts. These nuts had to be replaced by the dealers.
