History of the 1964 Chevy Truck and Other Chevrolet Trucks

The 1964 Chevy truck is manufactured by the American company General Motors. They acquired the Chevrolet in the year 1918 and thereafter they brought onto the market the truck chassis. They did not offer a complete truck until the year 1930. Indeed the years ranging from 1947 to the year 1954 were considered as a transitional period for designers and engineers focused on a more enhanced visibility for the cab and the truck. There is no doubt that some of the enhanced features of the 1964 Chevy truck were the integration of the headlights right into the fenders. Moreover, there was a large cab and obviously a larger wind shield. Also the trucks were about 8 inches and 7 inches longer than the previous ones.

Other models of the 1964 Chevy truck include the C / K series that was manufactured in the year 1960. It has been discovered that contrary to popular opinion the design if this truck has not been modified in the last three decades. It was until the 1990's that the design and style was changed and it was renamed the Silverado. Much before that time, the truck maintained its unique style and drive train technology which is unsurpassed in the industry. This new Silverado fitted well into the 21st century model of trucks. A new Super Sport performance package was unveiled for the Silverado in the year 2003. This was characterized by a huge 6.0 liter V-8 engine. There was also a tuned suspension and also other interior designs which made it unique.

In 2005 producers of the Chevrolet entered the industry of the hybrid thereby manufacturing the Silverado hybrid. This was a truck which was well equipped with an electric motor which was in the transmission flywheel housing. This was to enable it help in starting the 5.3 liter engine and also power all the other accessories. Immediately, the truck comes to a halt, the whole engine goes off and is only restarted when the brake is released. This process was mainly designed for the truck to save on the usage of fuel.

There is no doubt that sales of the 1964 Chevy truck and other models of the Chevrolet have been very high over the years. It has done pretty well against its main rival Ford. Sales however plummeted in 2008 just when General Motors filed for bankruptcy.
