I was still pulling from the archives , when I came across this image. I reworked it the best I could since it a really low res shoot from a old Fuji Fine pix that has cheap point and shoot when I got it.
There was a time that I have two 1971 Mustang Mach 1’s in the garage. I still regret selling the yellow one, but my kids were young and there was college funds to build. Named "The Beast" I had purchased it to build a 10 second street machine and 2 years into the project had gotten the motor (351C putting 497hp to crank , with a 250 hp shot NOS ready to jump in when it came time for racing) and drive train done, except for adding in mini-tubs for the huge racing / street radials that were going to be put on.
As you see in this shot the silver "Mr. Mean" was almost stock as the day it rolled off the factory line back then. People ask me how did I choose which one to keep. It really came down to sentimental value. Mr. Mean looks like the Mach 1’s I had as a young street racer and college kid, not as fast and loud , but still evokes all those great memories whenever I look at it.
