Chevy's Much Anticipated 2008 Camaro

The auto industry is always offering something new and exciting, and 2008 is no different. Every year between 1967 and 2002 car enthusiasts anticipated seeing what Chevy's new Camaro would look like, and for the first time in years Chevrolet will be producing a stunning new model. The Camaro line of cars has always had a large base of fans, owners, and collectors. They want a vehicle that embodies the past, but also embraces modern auto technology and know-how. The Camaro has been one of the most widely anticipated automobiles of 2008, and for good reason.

Few details on the 2008 Chevrolet Camaro have leaked out of General Motors, so where is all this excitement coming from? This incredible amount of anticipation is due largely to the concept car that knocked people socks off at the Detroit Auto Show. It featured a 400 horsepower, 6.0 liter LS2 V8 engine with a 6 speed manual transmission, and includes the option of an automatic transmission if that's what you're looking for. There is even Active Fuel Management technology included, that can shut down 4 cylinders when you don't need all that horsepower: this fuel saving system raises the expected miles per gallon into the 30s.

Another part of the 2008 Chevrolet Camaro people are excited about, is how the design of the car harkens back to the early models of the late 1960s. Many owners of those original classic Camaros, are now looking forward to a modern version of their old ride, with a reliable factory 400 horsepower, and the visual allure of those much loved muscle cars of the 70's such as the Camaro SS and Chevelle. The new design includes lightweight aluminum front and rear five spoke wheels, 21 inch in the front and 22 in the rear. The design is incredibly modern, yet still reminiscent of the classic street machine styling that built such a huge following.

The excitement is definitely building for Chevys latest muscle car. There are still very few verifiable details available about the 2008 Camaro but we are excitedly anticipating its release this fall. What is known is that when it hits the streets, heads will turn, tires will smoke, and car lovers will beat a path to their local Chevrolet dealerships. Stylishly modern and with a nod to its famous past, the 2008 Chevy Camaro will rank right up there with the hottest things to see on the roads in 08. And the Tom Harris Auto Group of Nanaimo will be leading the pack in bringing it to you first
