The news comes after Ford pushed order banks back from early this month to September 15, and production will now commence on November 14. The Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico was originally scheduled to begin producing the Maverick for the 2023 year model on October 24, but why is there such a delay?
The prevalent theory at this time is that the extension of 2022 Maverick production has forced Ford to reassess its production schedules. That being said, Ford recently raised the base price of the F-150 Lightning because of material shortages, and it’s not inconceivable to think that these same supply issues are delaying 2022 Maverick production output, causing a knock-on effect for the 2023 model.
