Ford Joins Red Bull Racing As Formula 1 Powertrain Partner

Ford has officially announced that it will make an F1 comeback as a powertrain supplier from 2026, partnering with Red Bull Oracle F1 racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri. These rumors have been swirling around for a while, suggesting that Ford would merely pay Red Bull to put the Blue Oval on the engine. Ford and Red Bull made the announcements at the unveiling of RB19.

As it turns out, the deal is so much more than that. Red Bull Ford will provide the power units for both the Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri teams from 2026 to at least 2030 as part of an in-depth technical partnership.

“This is the start of a thrilling new chapter in Ford’s motorsports story that began when my great-grandfather [Henry Ford] won a race that helped launch our company,” said Bill Ford, Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company. “Ford, alongside world champions, Oracle Red Bull Racing, is returning to the pinnacle of the sport, bringing Ford’s long tradition of innovation, sustainability, and electrification to one of the world’s most visible stages.
