BST Concept Revealed As The Polestar 6 On Steroids

Key Takeaways

Polestar Concept BST presented at Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Concept BST features Motorsport Silver paint, unique bodywork, and a removable roof. Production is yet to be confirmed, but Polestar is very keen on introducing more high-performance BST models.

Polestar has presented the Concept BST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a preview of a high-performance take on the future Polestar 6, a gorgeous sports car with which the Swedish automaker hopes to rival Porsche. In fact, the car that will eventually become the Polestar 6 has been benchmarked against the 911. This is the second BST creation from the automaker after the Polestar 2 BST and hints at what the Polestar 6 may someday come to look like as a high-performance range-topper, but no performance details have been shared. This is just a concept for now, but you can be sure that Polestar will be watching the public’s reactions closely.

2023 Polestar 2

Base MSRP $48,400

Engine Electric

Horsepower 231 hp

Fuel Economy 113/100 MPG

It Should Be Fast

The Polestar 6 doesn’t really need any more grunt than we’re already expecting, as the electric sports car is scheduled to adopt a dual-motor setup that develops 875 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque. It’s also expected to achieve 0-60 mph in around 3.2 seconds, but with the BST treatment, who knows? Perhaps as much as 1,000 hp could be unleashed, enabling even more extreme acceleration.

For now, the changes appear to be mostly cosmetic, but we assume the new concept has some aerodynamic refinements, too, particularly with such a large rear wing sprouting from the rear hatch. Along with the aero appendage on the back, a removable roof, glittering Motorsport Silver paint, 22-inch forged alloy wheels, and a BST livery complete the menacing look.

Will It Reach Production?

There’s no confirmation of production intent for this concept yet, but it’s clearly also a statement of intent. Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, says, “This car is a demonstration of how far we can push our performance brand – Polestar turned up to 11, if you will – and a demonstration of how we could apply the BST formula to our lineup in the futute.” The CEO has promised more BST models in the past, and after this Concept BST makes its way up the Goodwood hillclimb this weekend, we’re sure that the response will be nothing but positive.
