2025 Audi A3 & S3 Get Upgraded, But Cost More

Pricing has been revealed for the 2025 Audi A3 Sedan and the sportier 2025 S3 Sedan. To no one’s surprise, the upgraded entry-level luxury sedans are more expensive than their 2024 counterparts since both were upgraded for the 2025 model year. The A3 gains quattro all-wheel-drive as standard equipment, which is partially responsible for the $2,400 price hike compared to last year’s model.

Pricing for the A3 quattro Premium now starts at $38,200 (not including a $1,295 destination fee), compared to $37,800 for the 2024 A3 with AWD. There is also a Premium Plus trim for $40,800. As for the 2025 S3, it sees a $1,300 price increase compared to the 2024 S3. Pricing now starts at $48,700 for the Premium trim level with the Premium Plus and Prestige trims priced at $51,100 and $54,900, respectively.

Upgraded A3/S3

Audi can justify charging more for the 2025 A3 and S3 because both models see notable improvements. In the A3, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine still produces 201 horsepower, but the torque increases from 221 to 236 lb-ft. Audi says the 2025 A3 will hit 60 mph 0.3 seconds quicker than the outgoing model (to 6.0 seconds). A seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission sends power to quattro AWD; front-wheel-drive is no longer available in the US market. The S3 gets a more substantial bump, increasing from 306 to 328 hp while keeping the same 295 lb-ft of torque rating, though it will be available in a wider rpm range (2,100-5,500 rpm).

The 2025 A3 family gets a styling update, including laser-etched B-pillar branding, new wheels, and revised LED lighting designs. S3 owners will even be able to select one of four daytime running light signatures on the MMI system. Inside, both models get a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system standard with an available top-view camera. More equipment comes standard on the A3 than before, including a leather steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a front armrest.

RS3 Influence

The range-topping Audi RS3 has not been priced for the US market yet, but 2025 S3 owners will benefit from some of that car’s technology. Specifically, the S3 will now come standard with the RS3’s rear torque splitter and swivel-bearing suspension. The torque splitter allows the S3 to transfer power between each of its rear wheels using a multi-disk clutch on each drive shaft. It can send up to 100% of the torque to the outside wheel, helping the car slide more easily.

There are six drive modes, including a new Dynamic plus setting to take full advantage of the upgraded chassis, and a drift mode to slide the S3 around corners. Audi implemented sportier tuning for the dual-clutch transmission, reducing the time for shifts under full load by about 50%. An S sports suspension comes standard, while an S sport suspension with adaptive dampers is available. The 2025 A3 and S3 will be available at US Audi dealers starting in Q4 2024, undercutting the $44,400 Mercedes-Benz CLA and the $40,375 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe.
