Maserati Delivers The First MCXtrema Racing Supercar At Laguna Seca

Maserati brings its new racing supercar to fruition.

The MC20 flipped the script for Maserati, continuing the legacy of the MC12 supercar and introducing a new approach to performance for the brand. Since then, Maserati has introduced a new design language, and the brand has heralded the Nettuno twin-turbo V6 engine, introduced in the MC20, as its premier performance engine.

Now, the MC20 and its Nettuno V6 have served as the basis for new racing-ready machines, like the track-only MCXtrema and the newly-revealed, highly exclusive Maserati GT2 Stradale. During Monterey Car Week this year, Maserati delivered the first example of its new customer racing masterpiece at one of the most iconic race tracks in the world, the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

The MCXtrema boasts 730 horsepower and only 62 examples of the new racing supercar will be made. During the delivery, the new Maserati MCXtrema raced around the iconic Laguna Seca track, taking on its legendary Corkscrew corner and its other elevation changes and challenges, driven by Maserati Chief test driver Andrea Bertolini.

In addition to being a unique and rare Maserati racing masterpiece, the new Maserati MCXtrema comes with the “MCXperience,” admitting owners to an exclusive club with access to Maserati’s racing world, including drivers, technicians, access to on-track experiences, and custom racing equipment designed in collaboration between Maserati Centro Stile and Sparco. With the delivery of the first MCXtrema, a new era of Maserati racing begins.
