A pair of ill-fated SDP40Fs lead the southbound Floridian on some street running through downtown Lafayette on February 15, 1976. The train is making a 10pm station stop at the Lahr Hotel. Fast forward 36 years, and everything in this scene is gone – the train, the locomotives, the street running, and Rick Pavey’s Ford Mustang. From a Kodachrome slide.
