Used Maserati – An Affordable & Practical Supercar?

The supercar is the stuff of dreams, is not it? The unobtainable fantasy of childhood that adorned boy's bedroom walls all around the world. Millions of grownups and children covet these examples of technical perfection, reading about Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches. So few many of us actually get the chance to test drive this wonderful machines, never mind owning them. So why can not more of us experience the driving perfection of a supercar?

If you ask most people what is stopping them from buying a supercar, you will invariably get the following two answers. The first answer is "they are far too expensive", the second is "they are nowhere near practical enough for me to consider buying". These are both perfectly fine excuses, with a lot of validity. There is a way around both of these critisms of the supercar in one rather special package.

The car I speak of is the Maserati Quattroporte; a supercar with all the speed and maneuverability of a Ferrari, with all the interior space of a Ford Mondeo. "Quattroporte" is literally translated from the Italian as "4 Door", so there is easy access for the whole family. So that's the matter of practicality sorted, but with prices in excess of £ 80,000 (approximately $ 120,000) the price still is not right for the vast majority of car buyers.

This is where the used Maserati market comes into play. By investing in a second hand Quattroporte you can take advantage of the fact that these vehicles seem to depreciate as quickly as they accelerate. This means that it is possible to find a Used Maserati with less than 30,000 miles on the clock at roughly half of its original value. All of a sudden it does not seem quite so impossible to own a supercar does it?
