Ford Mustang Gets Awesome AWD Conversion

Like front-wheel-drive and hot hatchbacks, rear-wheel-drive is commonly associated with high-performance vehicles. Part of the appeal of a rear-driven V8-powered car like the Ford Mustang GT is the ability to pull off incredibly smoky burnouts, powerslides, and donuts.

But one all-wheel-drive aficionado is currently in the process of modifying his 2017 Ford Mustang GT to send its power to all four wheels. The owner, who presents the No Production Value GarageYouTube channel, bought the Mustang with the intention of converting the car. You may wonder why he doesn’t just buy an AWD car in the first place but, as he explains in the video below, he’s a Ford Mustang fanatic through and through.

The Premium-spec muscle car isn’t the Ford fan’s first project – he’s converted a 1986 Merkur XR4Ti in the past and hopes to take everything he’s learned and implement it into the Mustang’s conversion. “Once you’ve driven an all-wheel-drive V8 car and [felt] the adrenaline of the effortless acceleration – no matter what the conditions are – it’s addicting,” says the enthusiast.
