$370k Ford Mustang Fastback With Coyote V8 Is Restomodding Done Right

Velocity Modern Classics (VMC) has revealed its latest restomod project based on a classic Ford Mustang fastback, and, simply put, it’s wonderful.

The Florida-based experts have restored this gorgeous 1967/1968 Mustang back to its former glory. While the styling remains untouched, the same can’t be said of the powertrain and underpinnings. Instead of fitting this ‘Stang with an electric drivetrain, as is the fashion these days, VMC has gone for the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 found in the S550 Mustang GT.

As a result, the Fastback now produces 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission or, if you prefer, a six-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, the vehicle has been fitted with custom headers, along with a stainless steel exhaust and Borla mufflers for an even fruitier exhaust note.
