Many other automakers are currently considering releasing compact trucks here, considering the success of the Ford Maverick and, to a lesser extent, the Santa Cruz.
The most likely addition in the coming months with be the recently unveiled Ram Rampage, built in Brazil. It’s very much a competitor to the Maverick and would most likely start stealing sales as soon as it arrives in the USA. There are also rumors that General Motors is benchmarking the Maverick, so we can expect a rival from it, too.
If Toyota does jump into the fray, it will be a few years behind, though it would have the advantage of studying the competition to see what it should and shouldn’t do.
