RML Brings First Production Short Wheelbase To Monterey Car Week

RML Group, a prominent figure in the automotive world, is all set to make waves with the delivery of its first production Short Wheelbase (SWB) model. Following four years of arduous planning, designing, engineering, and testing, the hand-built car is destined for an owner in the United States. But before that, it’s scheduled for a spectacular preview at Monterey Car Week from August 11-20.

The car itself is a visual treat, hand-built over a nine-month period and crafted to the very highest standards. The vivid triple-layer yellow and deep metallic blue exterior paintwork, combined with satin chrome highlights in the cabin, blue Alcantara, leather trim, and contrasting yellow stitching, creates a stunning appearance. As RML’s CEO, Michael Mallock, says, “Car One really does look incredible,” and represents the dedication and attention to detail from the entire RML team.

What sets this Short Wheelbase apart is the advanced technology employed in its construction. All parts are laser-cut, and the jig used in the SWB’s manufacture maintains a maximum 0.25mm tolerance, ensuring consistent high-quality production.

Under the hood, the RML Short Wheelbase houses a 5.5-litre Ferrari V12 engine, capable of producing 479bhp. The design pays homage to classic supercars, but with the integration of 21st Century features, it stands out as a contemporary masterpiece. It is paired with a manual six-speed gearbox, offering a thrilling yet comfortable ride that effortlessly blends tradition with modernity.

Furthermore, the Short Wheelbase integrates modern conveniences such as navigation, air conditioning, cupholders, and smartphone connectivity without compromising its classic style. And with a 0-60mph acceleration time of just 4.1 seconds, along with a top speed of 180mph, it’s a car built for speed and style alike.

The arrival of this first Short Wheelbase is not the end but rather the beginning of an exciting chapter for RML. Following Car One, the next two production Short Wheelbases will soon be ready for their owners. The company plans to construct a total of 30 Short Wheelbases, each one representing the epitome of luxury, quality, and performance.

With the Monterey Car Week around the corner, car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting a firsthand look at RML’s new offering. The RML Short Wheelbase has already generated significant buzz, and its unveiling is sure to be one of the highlights of the event. Its blend of old-world charm and modern technology not only captures the essence of the golden era of high-performance GTs but propels it into the future. For those seeking a vehicle that masterfully combines tradition with innovation, the RML Short Wheelbase promises to be an enticing option. The automotive world is watching, and the red-letter day is almost here.
