Ford Mustang GT And Dark Horse Castrated To Comply With UK Emissions

The strangest thing about this whole mess is that the UK hasn’t implemented the most obvious solution. As you may know, Ford designed the S550 as a global model, and this ethos was carried over to the new S650. It means they can sell Mustangs in more markets, including the UK, Australia, and South Africa. There is massive demand for the Mustang in all of these countries.

As part of the new global package, the ‘Stang was also available with a four-pot EcoBoost engine, which we’re willing to admit is highly entertaining to drive, but still completely wrong. The high-performance variant of this engine produces 330 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, and it’s way more fuel-efficient and kinder to the environment than the glorious Coyote engine.

Yet, the EcoBoost is not an option in the UK. If we were Ford, we’d send EcoBoosts across the pond and keep the Coyotes at home where nobody can harm them.
