Apollo 11, the spacecraft that first landed humans on the moon in 1969, was equipped with hydrogen fuel cells.
Devices inside the Apollo 11 were powered by electricity generated from hydrogen fuel cells. Astronauts also drank water produced as a byproduct from the electrochemical reaction.
