Official: AC Cobra GT Coupe Coming To Put A Lid On The Sports Car Icon

Underneath its skin, an extruded aluminum space-frame chassis provides rigidity, while the bodywork itself will be fashioned from carbon fiber. Other mechanical details include a friction limited-slip diff (optional Torsen LSD), lightweight 21-inch alloy wheels, and six-piston front brake calipers with 15.5-inch rotors. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires are standard on the Roadster and are expected to remain on duty here, but optional Cup 2 rubber will cater to track enthusiasts.

The interior will carry over with minimal change, meaning a centralized instrumentation cluster of seven dials and various physical toggle switches, beneath which will sit a 10.25-inch touchscreen. With a roof, there’ll be no need for rollover hoops, but we’re uncertain of the ramifications a roof will have on its ability to seat occupants taller than six feet.

More details are expected in the coming months, but orderbooks are open already.
